The popup is just such a generic thing that every brand has. You see something enough times, and you kind of become blind to it—it doesn’t have the same impact.

Traditional pop-ups were too predictable to be engaging for visitors. They were accustomed to the same "Enter your email for a discount" format, which caused a decline in effectiveness.
